New street food vendor brings taste of Sri Lanka to Glasgow – By Nicole Mitchell

A NEW street food vendor is bringing a taste of Sri Lanka to The Barras.

Ceylon Cartel has been announced as a new trader at the East End market serving up dishes such as fried rice and kotthu – a dish made with thinly shredded roti, fresh cut vegetables, Sri Lankan spices and a choice of protein.The food truck also sells smaller dishes such as lentil soup and ceylon lamb rolls.

Bosses said on Instagram they had a successful first weekend at the market on Saturday, January 18.A post read: “Just wanted to say a huge thank you for making our first day such a success.”We’re so grateful to all of you who came out and showed us your love and support.”You truly made our day special.”Ceylon Cartel will be located on Suffolk Street and will be open from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
